Over the summer, Whole Foods Amazon switched from an Australian beef supplier to some local New York farms. The local New York farms fo not carry USDA inspected organic beef. Instead, they offer 100% grass fed but it's not organic, which seems odd, unless the goal was not to let the United States Department of Agriculture to inspect your meat.
That made me wonder: "Why wouldn't a local farm want the United State Department of Agriculture to inspect their grass fed beef?"
I did some research. I found out that many butchers who claim to sell grass fed beef are defrauding their customers charging exuberant prices and selling them grain fed beef. These butchers are also creating a health risk because many people cannot digest anything that contains GMOs, especially grain fed beef. Grain fed beef cows have more fat so they taste better. Grass fed beef is leaner is they have less fat therefore less flavorful, less juicy and less tender.
Paisano's Butcher Shop in Brooklyn, New York is selling grain fed beef advertised as 100% Organic Grass Fed Beef
When you only eat organic 100% grass fed ground beef for several years, you can taste the difference when a butcher substitutes cheaper, grain-fed product for a grass fed. And that's exactly what happened when I bought 100% organic grass fed beef from Ottomanelli Bros., Pino's Prime Meats, Dellapieta's and Paisano's The Butcher Shop. They say they only add fat from organic beef. We believe that is not true. The must either be adding fat that is grain fed or the beef itself has been fed grains instead of grass as advertised.
Paisano's Butcher Shop, Ottomanelli's Bros. Meat, Pino's Prime Meat and Dellapietra's all sell grass fed beef but their 95% grass fed beef is greaser and fattier than Whole Foods 93% lean. If those butcher shops were using 100% grass fed organic beef then their beef would be leaner, not juicer. Further, we cannot poop out the grain fed beef. That's the ultimately how we found out. We eat exclusively grass fed beef so we know when someone substitutes grain fed beef: constipation. But if that is not enough evidence for you, then you can visibly inspect beef that is 93% grass fed and compare that beef to see that it's leaner not fattier. Look at the difference between an Australian 100% grass fed steak and a local New York farm's New York Steak. The evidence is visible: the non-grass fed non-organic is fattier.
When grain fed meat is cooked, it is much fattier than the lean grass fed. Anyone who says their grass fed beef taste's better does not understand the reason people eat grass fed beef. Grass fed beef has less flavor, not more flavor.
Now, not one Whole Foods in the entire New York City area carries 100% grass fed USDA organic beef. Ever since Amazon switched to local New York farms, we cannot get organic grass fed beef in New York City.
Grazing Angus Acres charged us $12 a pound for 80% lean beef that was nit organic. Whole Food charges $7 for 85% lean grass fed beef that is USDA certified organic. Grazin Angus Acres is an example off how these small farmers are just ripping off the consumers in New York City.
The farms do not want the USDA to inspect their grass fed beef. Why?
We eat only 100% organic 100% grass fed beef for several years. That makes us beef experts. We tried the organic 100% grass fed beef from every butcher shop in New York City, including the Whole Foods Markets.. To get grass fed beef in New York City, we must only but the prepackaged 93/7 from Whole Foods or Honest Chops Butchery in the East Village.
